These Flowers are Best for Winter Blooms
It is possible to have a beautiful landscape in winter, but you are unsure if there are flowers that can bloom so late. Here are options to help you get winter flowers.
Pieris Japonica
- Winter is the best time for Pieris Japonica flowers. They prefer the cooler months in temperate climates. They produce blooms in the late fall. However, they are not opened until February or March. They then begin to produce coppery-pink clusters of urn-shaped flowers.
Honeywort
- These stunning flowering plants are native to the Mediterranean. These plants are known for being tough annuals that can grow in winter in warmer climates. The leaves will reward you with deeper blues if it gets cold.
Kaffir Lily
- This plant produces striking red flowers that bloom in the late winter and early summer. The plant produces tall stalks with delicately trimmed leaves. Bright blooms are produced. They are not able to thrive in frosty environments. Temperate is the ideal climate for Kafir Lily.
Sweet Alyssum
- These delicate flowers are fine with light frost. These tough troopers, once thought to have the ability to cure rabies, were renowned as a remedy. They are best suited for fall and winter. This ground cover is delicate and beautiful.
Camellia
- These flowers are stunning. They come in a variety of colors, from white to pink to light pink to dark crimson. They can continue to bloom all through winter. Temperate climates will produce the best results. To produce the best flowers, they need to be exposed to sunlight for four to six hours.
Honeysuckle
- We are hands down; one of the best winter scents. These highly fragrant flowers are hard to beat in beauty and scent. This beautiful climbing vine has many positives. This plant produces creamy-white flowers in winter. They have a pleasant lemony scent. These flowers can bloom in some regions from November to April.
Holly Bushes
- These red berries are holiday decorations. They survive harsh winters, and they produce brightly colored clusters of red berries in the coldest months. They are not edible, though. The bush will also produce small white flowers in spring.
Witch Hazel
- This orange blossom is shaggy and spidery. It is very prolific. It is a winter tree sprout that forms clusters of flowers on branches. They are very hardy. Witch Hazel makes a great addition to a brown or white backyard.
Hellebore
- This is the Christmas rose, a special flower. It blooms in the darkest months of the year. It blooms when all else is frozen. It has deep roots. Protect it from the harsh winter winds. In warmer climates, look for Hellebore flowers in the early winter and later in the winter in colder areas.
How to arrange your winter bloomers?
